Even more luck is coming to RuYi Asian Kitchen at Potawatomi Casino Hotel, Milwaukee!

RuYi welcomes its very own lucky cat sculpture on Thursday, May 22. Between 3 & 4 p.m., we’ll be hoisting this adorable, six-foot-tall cat sculpture onto the restaurant’s front counter so its luck can be felt by all who pass by—including you.

As part of this auspicious occasion, RuYi has created a special Dim Sum Platter and drink special for you to enjoy May 22–29.

Dating possibly from 1600s Japan, the maneki-neko or “beckoning cat” is often called a “lucky cat” in English and signifies good fortune, waving customers into shops and restaurants. According to folklore, the beckoning cat may have its origins in the story of a down-on-his-luck shopkeeper who took in a starving cat that then repaid the shopkeeper’s kindness by beckoning customers to his store, saving the business.
